Candid letter for the President

September 22,2021

Ilocos Sur, Philippines

 Dear Mr. President,

Good afternoon Mr. President.I personally wrote this letter to express the different emotions that I felt during your presidency. Gratitude, happiness, contentment, disappointment, pity, frustration and anger;that were the mixed emotions that I felt.I’m not a DDS nor Dilawan. One thing for sure is it’s not easy to handle the whole country specifically when the citizens don’t recognize and follow you.

I was really grateful for the good things you have done for the betterment of our country. You started a nationwide campaign to rid the country of crime, corruption, and illegal drugs. You ordered the “disestablishment” of the Pasig River and Manila bay Rehabilitation Commission. Moreover,Savvy fiscal management, breakup of some oligarchies, sanctioning of abusive utilities.

When the COVID-19 pandemic started to invade our country, we were hopeful that you would be on top of everything. However, our hearts fell as we watched you address your countrymen in light of the situation. We trusted and expect better from you. This pandemic could’ve been contained with a better pandemic response.Add to all these are the ABS-CBN shutdown, the BIR planning to tax all online sellers, the Anti-Terror Bill and so much more.

Leading a country with over a hundred million people must be extremely challenging, especially at your age.I really felt bad and pitied you because most Filipino Citizens only saw your mistakes and never recognized your efforts to make this country better. In fact, you’re just not the one to blame because we’re too. Us citizens, doesn’t follow the rules that you government implemented.Thank you so much for everything Mr. President and rest well.

One of the citizen,

Shaira Ponce

  1. That’s really a great letter to Mr. President, those warm messages, such as your appreciation for his leadership in our country, would undoubtedly melt his heart, and yes, he did a brilliant job leading our country. I admire how honest you are with your sentiments and words, as well as acknowledging that you are neither DDS nor Dilawan, yet you still tend to understand his point of view; you are truly practicing and using all of the lessons you learnt from various books.

  2. Hi there! Our President is really of great influence and inspiration to the Filipino people, even if into the extend that they are question on how he implement the rules and regulations. But, it is for the good of his countrymen. Just like he always saying that, “I don’t do any harm to my country and my countrymen, I will protect my country from any wrong doings”… “Mr. President, you’re such a great leader”.
