Helpless education system

Pandemic really have a huge impact in our life in different aspects. The way we live, communicate and study changed. Our education system now is distance learning. This means students can’t study through face to face.In October 2020 school year for public schools started and as of that the DEPED gave the students an option if they want an online learning or the modular learning system because not all students have enough access for gadgets and internet connections for the said online class.

As this new normal education system started, students have different perspective and experienced. Some of them answered easily and passed their modules without being rushed but most students were having a hard time on answering the questions in the given modules. Base on my research and surveys, it was really hard to answer all the given modules on time because they have their own responsibilities at home and in their own lives. Some difficulties that I found out were having no enough internet connection, hard time on answering and understanding each lessons and questions because not all students is a fast learner. They also don’t have anyone to teach them because most of the parents also have responsibilities and works to do.Because of this setup most students also forgot how to communicate in the real world and develop a social anxiety.

We all are having a hard time on adjusting in this new education system, not just us students even the teachers is not an exception. However,we are glad by the sudden news:September 20, 2021 – The Department of Education (DepEd) would like to announce that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes in low-risk areas.Limited face-to-face classes in schools to start on November 15

Unite to achieve progress

What characteristics of someone or something to be able to consider as “resilient” or “strong”?In order to be like that we needed power. And where can we get that power? The COVID-19 pandemic has brought upon the world with challenges. Almost all countries had to shut down their economies to halt the spread of the virus and the Philippines is one of those countries who have taken strict measures by implementing the Enhanced Community Quarantine on 15 March 2020.

I personally think the Philippines is one of the worst places to stay in this pandemic crisis. The fight against covid is hard and we are in a bad situation. The administration here is insane and the response for covid is literally non-existent.The other problem is we always complain and criticize our own government but how about our lapses as a citizen of the Philippines.Don’t we have that accountability or responsibility to do our part or roles just to lessen the impact of COVId-19?Every single one is almost frustrated and upset because of this setup and putting blame with each another. But now is not that time. The government should coordinate with each other, also the citizens should do their part. Set aside politics for now.

The pandemic is indeed a battle of every human and every unit of government. Now is the time for unity, for the international community to work together in solidarity to stop this virus and its shattering consequences.By saying we deserve a better government, we may also be reminded to become a better citizen.Yes, the power I was talking about in the introduction is all people living in the Philippines;the citizens, government and everyone who’s in the right mind to do so. We need to unite and help each other for us to overcome this conflicts we’re trying to solve right now.A good and strong bond of Citizens and government may lead to a more resilient Philippines.

Candid letter for the President

September 22,2021

Ilocos Sur, Philippines

 Dear Mr. President,

Good afternoon Mr. President.I personally wrote this letter to express the different emotions that I felt during your presidency. Gratitude, happiness, contentment, disappointment, pity, frustration and anger;that were the mixed emotions that I felt.I’m not a DDS nor Dilawan. One thing for sure is it’s not easy to handle the whole country specifically when the citizens don’t recognize and follow you.

I was really grateful for the good things you have done for the betterment of our country. You started a nationwide campaign to rid the country of crime, corruption, and illegal drugs. You ordered the “disestablishment” of the Pasig River and Manila bay Rehabilitation Commission. Moreover,Savvy fiscal management, breakup of some oligarchies, sanctioning of abusive utilities.

When the COVID-19 pandemic started to invade our country, we were hopeful that you would be on top of everything. However, our hearts fell as we watched you address your countrymen in light of the situation. We trusted and expect better from you. This pandemic could’ve been contained with a better pandemic response.Add to all these are the ABS-CBN shutdown, the BIR planning to tax all online sellers, the Anti-Terror Bill and so much more.

Leading a country with over a hundred million people must be extremely challenging, especially at your age.I really felt bad and pitied you because most Filipino Citizens only saw your mistakes and never recognized your efforts to make this country better. In fact, you’re just not the one to blame because we’re too. Us citizens, doesn’t follow the rules that you government implemented.Thank you so much for everything Mr. President and rest well.

One of the citizen,

Shaira Ponce

“You’re just not like them, you’re you.”

Every single person in this world is unique in any ways;the lifestyle, status, mindset, physical appearance, hobbies, talents and interests.Maybe that’s the reason why they call life isn’t fair.Growing up in this generation is hard and complicated. How could you able to describe yourself? Are you really being yourself right now or just the imitation of society wanted you to be?

I am Shaira Ponce.15 years of age and currently living at Vigan City,Ilocos Sur. I like being alone most of the time because it gives me peace however,I also like having the attention of others.I’m socially awkward and shy specifically if I’m not comfortable with someone.I don’t have a lot of talents;I’m weak at Arts, dancing and sports but I don’t consider this as my weakness and distraction, I know God has a purpose.Reading different genres of books;law, mistery, romance, fiction, and sci-fic is my escape from reality. These books taught me the very important lesson in life.Never judge someone without knowing their point of view, kinda simple right? But that lesson apply in my daily life. Not what we saw is everything, there’s always the other side of story that we don’t know. You can see someone stabbing the other party however we didn’t know the reason behind it,little do we know it’s just a setup nor someone else did.

I’m just the typical teenager girl who is still immature and have a lot of dreams.I love to be a successful prosecutor someday to help those people who don’t have enough money to fight for their right, I want to be that someone that will represent to them in the court.I can also see my potential and interests about it. Because I love anything that inlovles crime, law, politics, debating and solving a case,I personally think that this job will suit me well.My goal is to buy my parents their own house.I wanna spoil my grandma and brother the things that I can’t buy right now because I’m still not capable to earn a huge amount of money.I would love to be a millionaire and travel the world at the young age even if it feels like impossible to.However, nothing’s impossible in God’s power.

I get confuse with a lot of things. I don’t know if I really do like it or I just like it because society said so.Same with my opinion, I’m not sure if I really agree/disagree, I just go with the flow with what other people said so.Growing up, I keep changing my personality because I thought people and society would appreciate and love me but I was wrong.

Can you please stop blabbering things you are unaware of? You don’t see yourself when you are laughing so loud over silly things. You don’t see yourself when you’re eating your favourite food, listening to your favourite music, dancing to different melodies, or when you’re reading your favourite book. You don’t see how your eyes spark whenever you talk about the things you love. You don’t see how you shine when you’re doing the things you are so passionate about. You don’t see them, but someone else do. So do you think no one likes you? Stop acting like a child. You may not just be aware of it, but somebody out there is falling in love with every awkward move you do, in every second of every minute, of every day. You’re not just like them, you’re you.
